"Knowing I have what I need to fully participate in my classes has eased a burden, both financially and emotionally, and allowed me to focus my energy on truly learning rather than on making things stretch. I'm deeply grateful for your generosity and for your belief in supporting students in practical and meaningful ways." - Bowdoin Class of 2027

The Bowdoin Book Fund ensures that every aided student can access the textbooks and other materials their classes require, regardless of their financial circumstances. The cost of textbooks is an early semester expense for every student, often before the first assignment is due.
During the 2025–2026 academic year, the Bowdoin Book Fund awarded $31,350 to 209 students, with an average award of $150. The need is outpacing what the fund can currently provide, and increasing the number of awards made annually is a direct priority.
Your gift to the Bowdoin Book Fund helps ensure that no student begins a course at a disadvantage, and that access to required materials is never a question of what a family can afford.
